Baby Fun

Ideas for baby shower fun on a budget?

I have to throw a baby shower for my best friend. I'm on a budget, but do not want to suck completely. What are some creative and fun games and activities we can do? In addition, it is impolite not to serve a lot of food a baby shower (we are thinking of a cake, some sandwiches, chips, and garnished few, I do not want to spend my total food budget.)

I very thrifty when it comes to parties with! first buy all their food at Aldi, it is much cheaper and the quality of the food yet. You do not have to do tonnes things or expensive food, just make sure you have enough for everyone. sandwiches and chips is ideal for food, can be reduced to the beautiful and make sandwiches a toothpick with a cherry tomato or olive oil on it for a more elegant look. perhaps also a pasta salad, vegetable tray, deviled eggs, taco sauce is always the first to go to my parties, little sausages in a crock pot, whatever you want! make a lot of punch to serve instead of loading up on soda. here's a good recipe I find it very refreshing punch mix a pitcher of juice mixed orange/pineapple/bannana- frozen concentrate orange juice and two liters of ginger beer, you can to the punch in a bath of low-cost baby and float a rubber duck on it for a great look (and it's an extra gift for mother-to-be!) obtain all decorations from the dollar store-they have tons of cute Baby Things now centerpieces, garlands, plates and napkins, plastic cutlery, streamers and helium balloons. Right now is a good time to find some prizes for the games as well, either pick up some things from the store or head dolalr regular stores and hit their clearance areas some things Christmas business is for sale-get everything I know you would like to recieve-candles, wipes, shampoo, what whatever! a game which I think is very funny is "Guess Mommys abdomen size." evaluation each cut a piece of string to the size they think her belly is (do not let them near her to try to measure it!), then mom walks around the world and measures to see who is closest in length the chain, you only need scissors and some string or a ball of yarn. another good one is baby bingo sheet make bingo and have each guest write any article the baby they want in each square (for example: rattle, bottle, blanket) then as a mother is opening her gifts to mark the elements that benefit from them and say that the first three to get the bingo (or how ever you want) receives a prize. the "guess the candy" you are good do it all the time too, is just too long to count all the candy! Go around to everyone and let them write their guess. you can get a jar and candy from the dollar store too. another is a fighting game of words, just mixing baby-related words and asked to decipher. (I have one saved on my computer, if you send me your particular direction e-mail you can send it to you.) I'd find a big basket or cradle of the wrist to put all the awards, looks very nice. Have fun!
