Bush – close the borders and let the rest of world peace?
I recently asked the question "What is a Bush to do?" (In connection with the terrorists) and received feekback interesting. Thanks to all who shared their views. One person wrote and what I have often expressed I wondered. In case of the U.S. has just closed its borders rather than attempting the seemingly impossible task of correcting the mistakes in the Middle East? Or rather, U.S. being the superpower that is, has an unwritten moral responsibility to intervene in worldly affairs, especially when innocent lives are being lost? What would you do if you saw a Pitbull mauling a child to death, when, in the comfort of your home on the street, you have a closet full of resources to defend the victim helpless? Is it really important that pitbulls will always be around the corner? Those who say that "war is not the answer" is saying this essentially because terrorists will always be – period. The war unwinnable. Maybe. So … let the child die, then? What if it was yours?
The U.S., being the superpower that is, it has a moral responsibility not written to endanger the security and prosperity of its citizens to jump on military adventures without have an idea of whether they are really needed, how much they are ultimately going to cost, or at least of all how to address it in any reasonable amount of time.
