GRAPHIC DESIGNERS: How to choose the sources for a design?
A lot of times Soooo waste much time searching through sources to see how my design … wonder how you do it?
I definitely know how you feel! A source can improve their work or make it look horrible. This is how I have to do to choose a font: 1) Determine the style of your design and find what you are trying to convey to your audience objective. Usually my designs can be broken into 3 categories of sources: sans-serif, serif, or both. If I want my design is simple and clean, and then I go to san-serif. This reduces the font options for me at least 50%. 2) to scroll through the choices of my source (usually in Adobe Illustrator) and select any part 5-8 sources that I think might work and put aside my project. 3) Then preview each font in the design so you can see what it looks like. As a designer, I think we know what works and what does not. 4) If I am still sure of my choice, I usually ask a friend of mine (also designer) what they think. Introduction Feedback is great, especially if your friend can suggest a font that might not have thought. I do not know how long my method really saves or wastes, but to me I work. A tip I have is not to download a bunch of random fonts, I've been guilty of doing in the past. Now, just download the sources that I really like, or I could see it used in a future project.
