Where can I find a ranking of sailboat racing designs?
J29, J25, J105, Olson 25, Cal29, N30 MKII, Beneteau First 47.7, etc. There are so many designs, I want to know which ones are faster then others. I would really like to see an independent website which has the handicap scores for all these designs and more.
Go to Carl’s Sail Calculator. It allows you to do side by side comparisons of various attributes and ratio’s for most production sailboats. It includes hull speed, capsize ratio, sail area to displacement, displacement to LWL. Detailed explanation for all ratios is included.
