First Commercial Embroidery manufacturing establishment

Jacob Schiess started the first commercial manufacturing establishment in 1848 in embroidery New York. He came from Switzerland and within a year had its own embroidery plant in operation. All seams are made by hand by fifteen woman stitching exquisite designs hand.

The development of Machine Embroidery did not occur until the 1800s. Joshua Heilmann from Mulhouse worked on the design of a machine embroidery hand. Although it did not sell many, it revolutionized the embroidery industry. Heilmann's invention was quickly followed by the embroidery "shuttle" and embroidery chain "stitch" methods.

The beginnings of transport embroidery dates back to the 1860s when Isaak Groebli, St. Gallen, Switzerland, was inspired for work done on the Sewing Machine.

Around the 1870s there were fourteen companies manufacturing Embroidery Machines in Switzerland manufacturing hand loom embroidery machines. At present there are four companies manufacturing Schiffli machine embroidery.

In 1873, Alphonse Kursheedt imported twelve of the ten new embroidery hand looms from St. Gallen, becoming the first American to use a mechanized embroidery process. The looms used multiple needles and were an improvement incredible in the age-old process of stitching by hand. They were, however, powered manually.

Immediately afterwards, Isaak Groebli of Switzerland invented the first practical Schiffli Embroidery Machine. This machine was based on the principles introduced by the newly invented sewing machine. Groebli machine used the combination of a continuous threaded needle and shuttle containing a bobbin of thread. The shuttle itself looked similar to the hull of a sailboat. "Schiffli" means "little boat" in the Swiss dialect of German, so his team came to be known as a Schiffli machine.

In 1876, Kursheedt began importing a number of Schiffli machines to the United States, making him the true founder of the Schiffli embroidery industry in the United States.

Dr. Robert Reiner, founder of Robert Reiner, Inc., of Weehawken, came to America in 1903 more than twenty years. Realizing the potential of industry Embroidery, Machine persuaded Vogtlandishe Works of Plauen, Germany, which he is appointed is an American actor. This began a mass importation of embroidery machines in northern New Jersey Hudson County. The banks arranged long-term credit for buyers. Dr. Reiner made it possible for hundreds of immigrants in Austria, Germany and Swiss in New Jersey to become manufacturers of embroidery.

The industry grew until 1938, when suddenly the two sources for the manufacture of machines Plauen, Germany, and Arbon, Switzerland, ceased operation because of World War 2. No additional machines were produced until 1953, when Robert Reiner Inc. introduced the first U.S. manufacturing Schiffli machine. Gradually over time, improvements were made to the machine in America as well as in Switzerland and Germany.
Today Computers are playing an important role in the embroidery process.

Why the trash gossip site from my computer?

Before writing this, but you gotta believe me, please do not answer the question. I know people lie a lot from here. Please, do not be mean to me. Well, my mom is friends with a very famous person. (I am not allowed to say the name). My mom and friend is going to go to dinner, and I wanted to come! My friend's mom has more than twenty photographers followed. These people are so upset. Asked the questions behind ever. And they said, "Whose the guy? This morning, I found myself on a gossip site. The writers made fun of my dress. They said something on how it was cheap and a couple of things that hurt others! This was my dress .. http://www.omiru.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/mellow-green-embroidery-sundress_110408.jpg Seriously, why is Hollywood so critical about? (I have 15 by the way)

Dear Girly Girl, let this not under the skin. That's why gossip is called gossip. It can be very hurtful. Be strong. It's a beautiful dress in my opinion.
