Pe Parent Programs
PE or in the school physical education sometimes has a bad deal in the basic configuration. Many people including parents feel that students go to PE just for playing. Many feel that it is only a time-out or other recess for students. Maybe that's true in some schools, But schools that have been associated with are not among them.
Many schools teach a variety of skills useful to their students. It is important that students exercise and use those muscles. They need to learn coordination skills and exercise your muscles large and small. They need to learn skills that will help to stay physically fit as adults. They need to learn about different sports and activities that are within its power to participate and enjoy.
The question Why then is not a program culminating at the end of the year and show these skills to parents? If parents saw how much the students actually work in physical education, then you might want to sit out. Even if a child has a disability or is limited in what it can do, you must obtain a type of exercise. Waiver them because they are uncomfortable, or simply unwilling to do so is not in your best interest.
physical education teachers could do a program at the end of the year using the gym floor as the stage. The parents could sit outside the black ring on the chairs while students demonstrate skills they have been practicing all year round.
Programs should probably go as well as physical education class. Begin with stretching exercises for show how students are coordinated, then add some coordination skills such as balance beams to demonstrate coordination. A simple line dancing fun or circle can be added, such as the Bunny Hop or the bingo. Maybe throw in a dance audience participation as the Macarena or Hooky Poky. Sports much skill a basketball dribbling a ball could be put in a relay.
It can put a variety of skills such a jump rope, turn Jammers, hula hoops, catching and throwing in the program to make it more interesting. Music could be incorporated with each screen to the rhythm or beat students to exercise. Me shorten the song like normal, it may be too long for them to maintain the skill.
I have written many music programs and programs such with Red Ribbon Week or programs patrioitic. I was recently asked by a physical education teacher to write a program that uses the skills he had taught. This has become a very interesting project and is still running but I can see that would be of value. Physical education programs first I have written will be in the coming weeks and am anxious to see how they are accepted by parents.
So the question is: If schools make programs music all the time, why not make physical education programs?
