Akiles Manual Offiwire double loop wire binding machine Product Review
Overview:
- The Akiles Offiwire is a small binding machine that is designed for binding documents using wire-o, double loop or double loop wire binding spines.
- This machine is available in a field of 2:1 or 3:01 pitch version depending on the size of the documents you need to link.
- With a large set of features, the Akiles Offiwire is ideal for small offices and home offices that need to bind a few documents per day with a wire.
Strengths / Features:
- The Offiwire is available in two different versions.
- 3:01 pitch version produces a pattern of holes with three holes per inch. It is ideal for binding documents from 3 / 16 "and 9 / 16" wire binding. This version can also be used with special spiral coil tone and 3:01 Proclick GBC binding spines.
- The release version produces 2:01 a pattern of holes with two holes per inch. This pattern of holes is specifically designed for binding documents that are 5 / 8 " thickness and 1-1/4 ". However, small businesses special 2:1 pitch wire is available for organizations that occasionally need to bind small business documents.
- This machine has a high resistance to all closer to metal wire. Many machines do not low-end wire they do have a high quality wire closer. Over time, these machines will begin to close the twisted wire causing problems with their bound documents. The wire closer on the Offiwire not have this problem. It uses two heavy duty metal screws that allow you to fine tune the closer. These metal pins also prevent slipping.

- The Offiwire even offers a wire cage in front of the machine to sustain their spines in place when on the edge of the pages in the document. You simply click on the back of the head cover and let your cable clamp to hold the spine in place while you insert your pages into the handles of the spine.
Weaknesses / Limitations:
- Although Offiwire offers a number of great features, it remains a machine that is designed for use small office. Only able to drill up to ten sheets of paper twenty pounds at a time. Capacity is quite small, especially for organizations that might need bind larger documents or multiple documents at once. Other machines heavier duty wire binding are more capable of drilling and a better fit if you do more than a few documents per week.
- Although the overall construction of this machine is good, the shell of this machine is still plastic. Akiles Wiremac Stepping machine will get all that metal is more durable and last longer.
- The Offiwire is designed specifically for the drilling of the letter classified documents. No pins disengaged drilling or drilling depth control margins. This means you can not be used to drill half letter size documents, paper, landscape format, or any other documents A4 size paper.

- It is ideal for small offices and home offices that need to bind to a letter a few classified documents per week.
- However, the largest volume users or organizations that need to bind documents that are longer or shorter than eleven inches will to look more heavy duty wire binding machine with disengageable dies and a larger punching capacity.
