Make a terrarium for reptiles pet turtle
A reptile cage suitable for a terrapin can be made from an aquarium, adding about six inches of water and make an area of land on the water. The surface can be constructed from rocks or aquarium decoration appropriate and should have a lamp for reptiles above it to provide warmth.
Terrarium Setup
El Tanque
Make sure you buy an aquarium that is large enough. At least one-gallon tank is necessary for an adult turtle. Add about six inches of chlorine and chloramine free water and set a filter and aquarium heater. external filters are preferable, as the turtles can be remarkably curious and may cause damage by investigating an internal heater. Also turtles produce large amounts of waste as a powerful filter that is needed. Hide heater under some stones to keep out of danger. You can not respond as quickly to changes in temperature, but it is preferable to the distress they cause, or injury to your pet.
Use a solution of water treatment sold in stores aquarium to remove both chlorine and chloramine are added to water for its water authority. Turtles can eat sand or gravel, so do not use these at the bottom tank and will be easier to clean the glass bottom.
You can place a few artificial plants in the swimming area but no more or add your turtle does not have room to swim. Do not use live plants as the turtle will eat them. To be healthy you need to make sure the water is clean, thus ensuring filter is working properly and clean the tank a week.
The land area
The land area can be made from artificial rocks or decorate a grocery store or terrarium use and clean stones or bricks. One area where the turtle can hide it is also necessary to make a small cave artificial rocks, wood or artificial terrarium decorations. Keep the temperature around 80F in cooling during the day to around 79F at night.
Lighting
Attach both a UVB lamp and a full spectrum lamp at the top. Turtles need UVB radiation in order to maintain bones and skin in good condition. UVB lamps are expensive and usually only last about six months but they are required to keep your turtle healthy. Turtles also need sunlight for at least twelve hours a day. It can also provide a basking light above the earth's surface.
tank tops are not really adequate as is necessary to connect the lamp to the top. A plank of wood, painted right on the outside can only be used in place.
Turtles also need a source of fresh water so place a small pot of water on Earth's surface. You might think that not enough water around of the turtle, but soon lack the swimming area!
Feeding Your Turtle
Commercially prepared turtle sticks can be used to feed your turtle. Mix fruit and vegetables from time to time to vary. You can also give your pet leafy vegetables such as alfalfa, clover, lettuce and cabbage and an assortment of berries. Do not overfeed and remove any uneaten food before it starts to rot.
