How I can sew the fabric that is 100% polyester?
I'm making my Halloween costume, and the top is 100% polyester. It's kind of silky fabric stain, but somehow, the thread does not stop! It just does not pass through the tissue and can be easily removed, leaving small holes in the fabric. What I do? I tried sewing common clothes, and it worked fine. So I'm assuming it must be my needle or setting on my machine? Help please! Only four days until Halloween! : (
Is it the full bobbin? Can reach up the thread of the tap? I suspect that this is by Bobbin Thread or something of misthreaded. Did you put in a new needle? If so, turn the needle 180 degrees and put it back again … jumping points is common when the needle backwards. And behave like you describe. Two more things you should review: the voltage setting should be "4." And try to put some tissue paper under the fabric and sewing for that. Sometimes, especially with fine fabrics, you have a problem called "flag", where the tissue jumps up and down the needle rather than remain flat. Role of bottom up (or adding machine tape) can fix it. Then just rip the fabric when you are finished sewing. Or are there loops on the lower and a thread that can be drawn from the loops? If so, there is no tension on the top. Rethread, making sure the presser foot rises so you can get the thread tension disk while you are threading. Then try to sew. Consult the manual of the machine safely. And probably would be using a size 8 or 10 microtex needle in the machine if it is a fabric, size 8 or 10 jersey or stretch if it is a point.
