Can a machine shop weigh the pistons and rods and give this information to another machine shop to balance it?
I am rebuilding a 1968 350 Pontiac and a machine shop has my pistons and connecting rods. This sent my crank machine to another machine shop that turned and balanced, but sent no pistons and connecting rods. They said they weigh and call another store to handle with the weights.
if the store has a good relationship with the other store, then does not matter. Assume that they are all professional and properly work together and do the job. That said, if the other store is global "better" next time, you just can skip the middleman and go to another store.
