Do you get a metallic silver acrylic paint on black polymer clay that the product has the appearance of silver over?
I'm doing a project and I wonder if they do not be pleasant. LOOK I love silver but with a "good" end it. Do you think it will work out right? I will try to use the black polymer clay and then bake it. Then place a metallic silver paint it. So I'm going to cook again?
You can use a liquid paint, acrylic craft metallic color of baked brick powder polymer, but all colors are a bit on the side pearl … that okay. You probably need at least two layers. You can add a layer of clear acrylic brush finish if the acrylic is not bright enough you. Do not use a "nail" metallic paint though … They can be seen more as a "hard" metal, but over time will eat into the clay due to solvents containing petroleum. There are other options for making "false metal" with polymer clay though: The most realistic would be a real metal "Powder – for example, Mona Lisa brand called authentic or something metal powders or metal pulvers Fimo, if you can find. (These are applicable general – rubbed in well – when the clay is raw.) You can also use a metallic wax like Rub N 'Buff mentioned above (usually done after cooking), then clean it. That will not be as bright as some of the other, but may work. (One brand is best Gilder Art Paste). The technique faux-metal most commonly used polymer clayers however, is a mica-based metallic powder as Pearl Ex or Perfect Pearls. These can be found in craft stores (usually in the form of sets of colors) or in art supply or hobby stores (often by individual color.) These are usually rubbed into the clay, while his cousin, but you can also paint baking time if a transparent medium is mixed with them as they are for kids (middle gel acrylic, polyurethane, acrylic clear fingernail polish, floor polish future, and other things). You can use one of the mica-polymer clay (Premo, Kato Polyclay, and one of the Fimo is my opinion, everyone has the money he has mica … Sculpey III is very little). They will be bright if all the flakes on the inside are lined by rolling them over and over again, etc, but probably not as bright as you wish. None of these options would need to bake again (and it would likely be using polymer clay fluid would need to), but some clayers do "rebake" after applying acrylic finishes only to harden even more – but it is not necessary at all. You can get more information about these choices and decisions "faux metal" with polymer clay on this site my site if you want more details: http://www.glassattic.com/polymer/Faux–many.htm (… Click on metals …) http://glassattic.com/polymer/paints. htm (… do click ACRYLICS> METAL, pearl) http://glassattic.com/polymer/powders_metallicwaxes.htm (… do not miss the REAL metal powder, Mica powders, and powders as painting) HTH, Diane B.
