How to run TV sound through the surround sound system?
I have a Panasonic home entertainment and I'm trying to run the sound of an LG Plasma set through the surround speakers. I tried putting the cables from the audio output ports on the TV for all Receiver ports on the DVD but none of them work. I have a faint hum through the speakers when I put the receiver to the TV and have cable television in ports, but no sound comes through. Any help is appreciated.
What models? Are you using the red and white cables or a fiber optic cable? It seems that their main problem is that the audio output on the TV is not enabled. Try going into the TV menu and change output audio. Make sure it is configured as fixed or variable, but above all, make sure it is. It should be something like Menu – Audio – Audio or something.
