Any advice to spend months of winter and one in the U.S.?
I am studying in Oregon as an exchange student from my university in Japan from September this year for about 2 years. And there is a month winter break, one after the fall semester ends. I have to leave my bedroom university during the break, but I have no idea what to do after that. According to an International Student Advisor, one bedroom will open during the holidays so I'm planning to stay in the room during the break. At first I was planning to return to my country temporarily, but I thought it would be a waste money. I am also thinking about making a trip to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco or New York. Are there places I should go or not to miss during my winter vacation? I enjoy my trip without having to spend a lot of money. And there are other things to do during the Winter Holidays, except on campus part-time employment and taking a trip? Thanks in advance!
I totally agree with Angelo. I do not know the last time I visited New York, but Manhattan is one of the safest cities I've been in recent years, even at night. My college-age daughter has been touring major cities on their own, including San Francisco, Chicago, Tucson, and Philadelphia, and she would agree that Manhattan is by far the best place to be. I do not think that Angelo is familiar with the company modern Japanese cities with large crowds of people and all you eye-catching advertising. I would like to Manhattan. View Hostelling International USA. They have a shelter on the Upper West Side of Manhattan that I hear is pretty good. My daughter had a great stay at their hostel in Chicago. They also http://www.hiusa.org/ Many local cities. Be sure to Make Your travel arrangements on the basis that large snow storms can cause significant delays. You should try to get insurance travel that includes coverage for trip interruption. Hostelling International membership includes travel insurance, I see. Personally, I save for when San Francisco more heat. While New York will also be cold and miserable, the views are at least packed more closely and you can always duck into the buildings. And then there is the New Year celebration in Times Square to consider. Los Angeles is too far away to see much without a car or take a guided bus tour. Would not the International Student Adviser be able to suggest other things to do besides work or take a trip?
