How real is the possibility of living organisms DNA-based machine?

Yes, I just saw transformers. So this one day could be a possibility?! I mean just 50 years ago that didn't even have computers capable of what they can do today. Can you imagine 200, 300, 1000 years from now and if you really survive to that point, we would have been able to integrate DNA and machines? Just wondering what the point of view on this subject is
